Description
Deslorelin is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone analog that is used to induce ovulation in mares. When it binds to the pituitary GnRH receptors, it causes a release of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. However, long-term use of deslorelin in males can cause receptor desensitization and inhibition of pituitary secretion.
