The pineal gland is a small endocrine organ in the brain. Epithalamin&#8217;s production is inhibited with age due to the decrease in melatonin which results in the degradation of the genome with age. Epitalon is a long-acting analog of melatonin that&#8217;s been shown to restore the circadian rhythm and improve sleep in the elderly. It&#8217;s also shown to increase the production of telomerase, a protein that converts the telomeres at the ends of the DNA in human chromosomes to a longer length. Telomerase has been shown to have potent anti-aging effects in various species.
