Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic growth hormone (GH) secretagogue. It stimulates the natural production of human growth hormone (HGH) in the pituitary gland. Sermorelin is clinically used as a potential diagnoses and treatment tool for growth hormone deficiency in children.

Sermorelin was initially developed in the US in the early 1980s. At the time, it helped researchers detect potential growth hormone deficiency within the pituitary gland. In 1997, the FDA approved Sermorelin to detect and treat GH deficiency in children.

Sermorelin is a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogue. It is derived from the first 29 amino acids of the GHRH protein. Sermorelin weighs in at 3357.9 g/mol and has a half-life of 11-12 minutes, extremely short when compared to that of other peptides.
