Description
4-methylhexan-2-amine (or 4-MeHA for short) is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor and releasing agent. It is structurally similar to the highly potent dopamine releaser 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA).
4-MeHA is a sympathomimetic amine that is used as a central nervous system stimulant. It has stimulant effects similar to those of amphetamines, and has been abused as a recreational drug. However, 4-MeHA is much less potent than amphetamines, and is not widely used as a recreational drug.
4-MeHA has been shown to increase dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain, and has been used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It has also been used to enhance cognitive performance in healthy adults.
4-MeHA is a controlled substance in some countries, and possession and sale of the drug may be punishable by law.
