Anastrozole is a research chemical and anti-estrogen medicine that is used to eliminate fluid retention, gynecomastia, and other estrogenic side effects during long term steroid use. Initially, Anastrozole was used to treat malignant mammary tumors that have increased estrogen receptor activity. Over time, the beneficial properties of the drug have been discovered including controlling excessive fluid retention, reducing the production of good cholesterol and increasing testosterone levels.
